Some git has hacked into my ebay account using a phishing email (which DH foolishly filled in) and was selling invisible plasma tellies and mobiles before we stopped them.
Yet the emails still come, pretending to be from someone reporting an unpaid item dispute.
You click on the link which takes you to a pretend ebay page, fill in your details and bingo - they've got your password.
Isn't it a shame you can't set up some kind of fake account where:

  1. They send you phishing email
  2. You pretend to have fallen for it and click on the link but give them a fake password
  3. When they try to log into your account using the fake password, a huge fist comes out of their computer and punches them.... or gives them a nasty virus (more possible I think!)

That's all

It's such a shame they can't be sent an enormous virtual slap

yes a virtual kick in the balls! we get them too, don't click on any links in emails. someone changed our password once and i didn't click on any links.

Yes, I suppose the online equivalent is spamming them so their server can't cope. Doesn't give you the same satisfaction though does it?

we do do other things to try and piss off the phishers though.. :-)

...but most aren't possible for 'normal' people sadly.
