Checking data usage on iphone

I have tried to look this up I promise, but still not quite getting it!

DS has an iphone and I want to make sure he doesn't go over his data allowance. So am I right in thinking that if I go to Mobile Data Usage, and then Current Period, this will be the amount of mobile data used SO FAR (since the contract began)? (Seems strange that anyone would even need to know that?!)

So I would need to click on 'Reset Statistics' every month at the start of his data allowance cycle in order to calculate how much he is using during that month?

Yes you could do that or I have got an app on my phone from my provider Tesco which tells me exactly how much I have left. Maybe check if your provider does the same.

Yes, my daughter has a Vodafone and we check hers through her App.

Ah ok, thanks. I have a Samsung/EE and my data usage is monitored with a warning and a cut off point when I have reached my data limit. I presumed most phones would be the same.

There's an EE app also! Very easy to use.

There's also an o2 app as well
