Song clips in a playlist (without the rest of the song) - how?

I'm writing a quiz, and there's going to be a music/sound round. It's being held in several different places with different people being quizmaster, so it would be much easier to have premade clips rather than instructing 'play until 0:25' etc.

Is there any way I can do this on a bog standard windows laptop?

You can do it in iTunes - may depend on the version, but basically right click on the track and Get Info and then on one of the tabs you can set a start and stop time. you might want to create a duplicate first if you want to keep the original but it's easy to reset once you don't need the short version any more
