Log in. Click on Profile (top right). On the menu that appears click on Profile & Settings. Click on the "Change" link next to the password line. After going through a security question to make sure this is your account you should be able to change your password.

It's also worth enabling two-step verification on PayPal (and anywhere else with this option). Means someone cannot login without your phone.

Thanks, I tried and tried but couldn't find Profile and Settings. In the end i logged out then tried to log in again but pressed Forgotten Password and reset it that way.

I will go back now and look for 2step verification, thank you.

I was stuck on this but if you look at the top right of the home page there is a picture of a little cog. Click on this and it takes you to account settings. There's a tab for security and if you go into this you can change your password.

Did you manage it? (I did it last night (for the second time recently) on the latest version of the website and got it through without difficulty.)

EmNetta · 27/08/2015 22:50

I gave up a couple of days ago, having tried on three occasions this year, and have now cancelled my account.

Simurgh · 27/08/2015 23:30

Have you actually closed it properly? (Otherwise, how did you 'cancel it' without logging in somehow?) If you haven't closed it properly but are simply leaving it to lie moribund, I'd set aside some time and do it properly - it's not a good idea to leave anything lying around which could potentially be used by fraudsters.

EmNetta · 28/08/2015 10:36

Thanks for the reminder Simurgh, but I did get an actual acknowledgement from them that it was closed, (after using old password to get in). There was a warning that account cannot be revived in future, so I doubt anyone else could do this either.
(And I read later that Android intend to bring out something even better).
