My mum has a cheap flip phone (I'm not sure of the make). She has received photos by text, but I tried to send her a photo from my iphone and her phone said something along the lines of "cannot download, file too big". Is there a way to make an iphone photo smaller?

Can you email it instead? That will give you the option to make it smaller. Or maybe email it to yourself, making it smaller and then send that copy to your mum?

my mum can't send photos from her iPhone to my Galaxy (android). It us because Apple are knobs. She has to email them instead

Mum is a bit of a luddite, bless her - gets confused by Sky television and I regularly have to talk her through resetting her phone when she's pressed the wrong button and "it's all gone funny" (she's usually gone into another menu by mistake).

Rusty that's an idea, I'll try it now.

Well I emailed it but then had a brainwave, I opened the picture and then did a screenshot of it - and I tried texting the screenshot. It worked! Obviously a screenshot is much, much lower resolution than the photo.

Watch your charges for sending picture messages too. Consider an appt that uses data ( if you have internet/wifi) such as whats app if you are getting charged for picture mesasging
