Can't transfer emailed photos to my photos

Can anyone help. I have ios8 on my I Pad. I have received some photos via an attachment and would like to put them into my photos. I have opened them up and tapped and held them down but nothing happens. I don't remember having this trouble with ios7. Has anyone else had this problem? Would be grateful for any help on offer.

Try right click and Add to iPhoto.

Thank you mumhum but I am on an I Pad and don't have a mouse or a lap top pad. I told the person who sent the photos that I couldn't send them to photos and she said she had sent them via a Word file. Perhaps that is the trouble.

I have an iPad and I can 'right click' by tapping and holding to tapping 2 fingers on the screen, takes a bit of practice though. Google how to do it and see what works for you - www.ehow.co.uk/how_8285170_right-ipad.html. Or maybe plug in a mouse? Perhaps easiest to ask sender to resend as jpeg email attachment.

Just tried my friend's photos and copy came up. Wondering if this is because they arrived in a Word file. Anyway I am pleased to have found out about the right click
