Any ideas why avg would have sent a warning on ds' Toshiba laptop? We have a Lenovo pc (2012)with W8 but his is W7 so are we correct to think it is no real threat.

Are you saying that that avg threw up a warning about superfish on a toshiba laptop?I would be scanning it immediately with both avg and malwarebytes,it could be another virus,as Superfish is an installed program with a dodgy security certificate a warning would only show on the pc or laptop it is installed on.

It wasn't so much a warning of its presence as a pop up box. The laptop is linked to the Lenovo as a hub. Would avg free pick it up?as the Lenovo is older than the preinstalled programme it shouldn't have it anyway. Just wondered if it was a standard alert.
