my laptop - about 18months old, uses windows 8. i have near - continuous issues with internet connectivity, and have been told by dell that i need to upgrade my router.

i don't know how to go about this? can i buy any wireless connectivity box or must it be an o2 one?

sorry this is probably a very very stupid question! Blush

You should be able to buy any "of the shelf" router for this. I have BT Broadband but don't use their hub/router/whatever they call it.

I went round and round the houses about buying a new one, reading lots of reviews etc. In the end I went into Maplins and got them to recommend me one, ended up with a cheaper one than the PC World person was trying to sell me. If you have one nearby, worth going in and explaining what your home setup up it and ask for recommendations.

I ended up buying a Netgear N600.

This page should come in handy when you go to set your new router up:

service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref%28User%29:str%28Broadband%29,T=Broadband_Case,CASE=24812
