can I put my itunes library onto a samsung phone?

I need to upgrade my phone and think I'll get a samsung. I've had itunes for my ipod for a while so I'll need to move those tracks to the phone for when I go running. I really can't afford an iphone and I eed to make sure that whatever phone I get can store my itunes.

Can I do it? I don't know anything about the cloud-thingy that everyone talks about either.

I presume you mean a Samsung Android phone. There are a number of ways of getting your iTunes library onto the phone. You can drag and drop the files in Windows or you can use Google Play Music which can automatically add your iTunes library.

I've had a look on the laptop and yes, I can copy tracks over from itunes into windows. Although when I click to play on the moved track the itunes application opens as if to play it through there .

I could test it on the dc's hudls couldn't I, they run on android. See if I can transfer some 1D over.

Yes, a Galaxy runs on Android.

Once you have a file on Windows don't double click it - that will just open iTunes. You can drag and drop it onto another device.

I did this. download the kies software for samsung onto your laptop. in the settings menu (top left corner) go to import library, then find itunes and it wil download all itunes music into it. then transfer across to your phone.

Thanks. I'm not doomed to only have apple products after all. I think I'll take the plunge this weekend.

I would use Google play if I were you (I did).
It's the equivalent of the iTunes store and music player for non-iphones. It's much easier to upload all your music to it online than all that dragging and dropping. Your library will then be stored virtually on the Google play cloud, meaning you can access it from any computer, phone or device and download the tracks so you can listen when not online.
Also, if you want to buy more music in future on your phone you'll be using the Google play store, which will add it to your play library, so makes sense to start it all off in the tight place!

update; I did it through Kies. It works! took a while to download and install the software and another 20 mins to set up and transfer my music over. But it's done. I didn't have time to move all my running tracks to my phone but I selected a few and them on my phone.

All in all it wasn't as tortuous as I thought it would be.
