If your dc has a kindle fire do they have it linked to their own account or yours

Just bought ds3 (13) a kindle fire.was going to link it to my account as I have prime but don't really want him having access to all my history ( present buying etc)

I know you can now set up a family library but does he still see what's in The cloud for the account , when I initially registered it to mine all my books came up on his home screen , not cool!

Does prime matter for a kindle , he does like to watch films etc but will also use for books , games and audio books etc

We set it up as a shared account initially because DD wanted to share my music and I was the one buying the ebooks, but I now wish we'd set it up separately for the reasons you mention, and just because she's older and more keen on independence now, she really doesn't want my music. Unfortunately, if we now set up a separate account I'll have to rebuy the books and music she's added, so it's now harder to disentangle so I'd recommend setting up separate accounts from the beginning. I don't have Prime so can't advise on that, but I'd imagine this would mean your DS couldn't access your movies though. It's a clever sales trick that electronic music, books and movies are designed to be owned by individuals not shared so you have to buy them twice.

Thank you , I am inclined to set up a new account I think as we already have problems with shared iTunes accounts !
