Just wondered if there is a free, easy way to transfer my contacts and sms from my old HTC to my new iphone 5? I'm googling and googling but not getting anywhere. Thanks in advance Smile

Free but maybe no so easy if you are uneasy with this sort of stuff.

Your android phone should be linked to an online google account (gmail.com email account) which keeps various copies of what's on your android "in the cloud" depending on your settings.

If it is doing this, then there should be a gmail.com account online that has a copy of all your contacts (perhaps not the SIM ones which you will need to copy from the SIM to the phone memory so that they can copy with all the rest).

I use this webpage to find the Google copy of Android's contacts online

www.google.com/contacts

If they are all there then you can get your iPhone to use this as its primary address book and it will sync with the list.

Here's the Apple way
support.apple.com/kb/HT4872

Here's the Google way
support.google.com/mail/answer/2753077?hl=en

As with all these things, back everything up and get help on hand as things often do go wrong!

Thanks Dad! I'll have a look at my settings and try and work something out, that's very helpful ??
