The ipad put that apostrophe in by itself, honest.

You can but I think a laptop would be better if that's what she needs.

Yes. I personally find it much harder to type on the ipad for long periods of time. I use my ipad for note taking and editing etc but the laptop for doing the majority of my work.

She wants an iPad for the apps and FaceTime to friends we have a family laptop that she can use but thought it'd be easier if she can do her homework on the iPad.
With regards to typing I was looking at buying the keyboard for it to make it easier.

Yes of course it is. If anything it's easier to put pictures in and move them about. You'd need a blue tooth keyboard really though ( apple one is lovely, but cheaper ones would work. )

You can send pages docs as PDF or word to others.

I used to think iPads were too limited for full school work use but my youngest apparently does most if hers on a little samsung galaxy tab ( she's stolen MY lovely apple keyboard!). So why not.

Check with school tech team that she'll be able to access moodle and other online resources before committing though. It'll be a pain if she can't and the lack of flash ( which android has) might matter a lot.
