Forwarding from Outlook to more than person -what the hell did I do?

This is for a group so we have a few people who can sign in, but no-one is going to want to check it regularly.
It is actually a Hotmail address and for years we have had it it forwarding emails to two of us...
As you can only 'forward' to one email I did something (POP?) which meant I also got the emails in my most used inbox...
I can't remember how I did it .
I can't even remember where I send them - I have a personal hotmail account I give out but I get the emails sent to that forwarded onto a google account (my most used inbox) I never give out...
Also complicated by some emails that go to the group account I THINK I also get sent to my personal hotmail. And other emails that the group account gets I also get for and from another group hotmail email address - coupled into all that I also have a desktop thunderbird account - which downloads mails too...
I would imagine I got the group hotmail to send mails to my personal hotmail email ...but can't find out how I did it...
Just gone to sign into the group account to change the password and it became a bit of a nightmare - verification codes wanted etc (which were sent to my personal hotmail - but then had to log in and out and it all changed -then realised they would be going to my google anyway ,and texts to my landline... )...in the settings it said we hadn't changed the password since 2013 then another time 2012 - but I did manage to change the password...(at one point had 5 hotmail tabs open)
In the recent activity it has lots of signing in from sunnyvale in US - which I think must be part of the pop forwarding but not 100% sure so I pressed the 'not me' to see what happened and it then told me to change the password ...put the one in I had just changed to and it accepted it ....
Now not sure if it has partially reset? Pretty sure I need to change the password for the forwarding via pop or whatever I did and I am in such a muddle ...and they have changed the layout etc again - help!

That sounds really confusing. I'm very, very confused I'd be worried about the 'Sunnyvale' us activity.
What about deleting the account and starting a brand new one so you will know its safe? Perhaps you could set up a Yahoo Group?

(And had another completely unrelated email problem earlier - getting to the throw computer through window stage!)
Did think about starting a new account - a google one as I am really hacked off with outlook (find google so much easier - never had the upteen requests for verification from them!) And for another group we have a google address - multiple users who can all sign in no problems...

The sunnydale is odd - but it is frequent log in over days -
That account has no links to finance, just really used to get email from 2-3 places... non of which is very important. No contact lists ... - it doesn't get any junk mail...can't see why someone would want to hack it....and no-one has complained that they have been spammed ...

Probably the worst is whatever I've done I have also done for the other hotmail group account... and I am leaving that group soon...what a mess!
Sure it used to be easier, the settings used to be clearer ...and the multiple verifications etc aren't helping - wonder if this is it - click on - have to verify then you forget what you were actually doing!

I don't like Yahoo though ...
I think I'll sleep on it...

To be fair I don't like Yahoo either.

What about using Facebook groups. I don't use Facebook myself but I know a lot of people who use it for groups.

Have you managed to get into the 'rules' part of the Hotmail (Microsoft). Are you using a windows desktop or something else?

Thanks anyway - I'm using a window computer and we do need an email address ...
(even with facebook! - the joys I had trying to set up a facebook page as a favour for someone - it refused to let me unless I linked it to me! - had to create a google email address for them and even then it kept trying to link it to me! )

I have worked out what I must have done is gone through my personal hotmail -told it to send mail from the group one to my account - rather than doing anything in the group email.
So I need to set it up again to change the password - but when I try and do it it keeps refusing to! Tells me there is an easier way of doing it - by using forwarding....except you can only forward to one email - grrrrrr...it isn't giving the option to say yes I know but I want to do this anyway ...
I really think MS have messed up hotmail/outlook ...no wonder they are losing out to Google. Used to be great. Now rubbish.

I think the worse thing about it is 'aliases' ... you used to be able to have linked email accounts - but you can't now. Instead you can have an alias. It took me a while to realise -but your user name of your main account appears as the name on the alias. Makes it all a bit pointless.
If you look at their help pages lots of people complaining and MS are not changing it

So eg I set up an alias for my DD2 (then 6) - didn't want her to have her own account for safety but needed one for a library challenge thing - set one up [email protected] - it appears in sent emails as
my username ([email protected])
Most people know me as a shortened version of my name - a nickname (eg Jaz for Jasmine- not this, not quite as obvious). My hotmail user name is the shortened version (and the address is a random one I've had for almost 20 yrs).

So I also had one account that was my official full name for professional use - now as an alias it appears as my nickname([email protected]) -looks really professional - not...what is the point.
And you can't just leave the user name blank - the best I could do was '..' but it is crap!!!
Sorry ranting - feeling pissed off with it....
I think a nice new shiny google account may be the way to go - get the mails forwarded on to the google account until I manage to tell everyone who needs to know it has changed - a PIA ...

I've had my original hotmail account for more than 10 years and it still irritates me. I actually pay for the no ad's version. The aliases nonsense irritates me too as to the constant chances to how the account is managed.

Anyway , hope you have managed to sort it all out.
