you gave to choose between sunlight and extra featyres.
there are otger e readers, too. the koo or the nook can bothbe read in sunlight

For just reading books, Kindle Paperwhite hands down winner, although if you can manage without the back light, any Kindle e-reader will fit the bill.

If what you really want is a tablet, then the Nexus 7 is the one to go for. Download the Kindle app for reading. But the screen is not ideal for reading in sunlight.

now, I was in waterstone's yesterday and had a quick look at their kindle range.
under their inside lights, rather dimmed, I found it hard to read the paperwhite because of the glare.
I once tested the sony reader under similar conditions (when waterstone's's ereader of choice to sell was the sony reader) and it didn't matter how close to the light i put it, there was no glare at all.
