Am I visible on Facebook?

Please help.

I'm useless at keeping up with friends on Facebook, I mean to reply later, but then forget. I've ignored births, deaths, tragedies so I've decided to pretend I don't go on to Facebook anymore if anyone mentions it as an excuse for being so lazy.

I occasionally go on on my iPhone when I get a message from someone and reply. Can anyone else "see" I've been online? Or logged in?

Yes. On the side of either the mobile, app or desktop version there is a messenger app which tells people when you last logged in. Most have so many friends you would have to actively look someone up on there to see if they have logged in though.

Is the messenger app the same as the chat function? You can turn that off. But it does show if you've read a private message or a post on any group pages

Oh no that's awful.... I'm gutted. You know when you are really embarrassed and go bright red and your heart thumps? I feel like that now.

I never have chat on, and I only access fb on my phone, though the mobile site, never on the app on the iPad. I thought I was safe... I'm such an idiot.
