Playing movies from my iPad through my tv.

Can someone please help me with this? I have bought the attached two cables, other end of the black one connected to the telly. I get the error message that I am not authorised to play content.

Is there a way around this? If not I am £20 down. Why sell leads to do this if you are not actually allowed to do it???

Where are you getting the movies. Some content providers won't let you view on anything other than the ipad screen, others will allow AirPlay (streaming to an AppleTV).

Try it with something likely to work, such as something on BBC iPlayer - not a movie, a tv show which the BBC has produced.
