HELP please! What's the quickest way for me to get broadband

I left sky and they cut the phone and broadband today - as I'm out of contract they can do be a fabulous deal but it can take up to two weeks even though as the guy said it's just flicking a switch.

I've a kid in the middle of gcse's who needs it - does anyone know the quickest way to do it?

You could get a broadband dongle - there are contract ones, or pay as you go. It's like buying a tiny little mobile phone for your PC/laptop to use instead of the house phone. Just buy it plug it in, follow the instructions. Sorted.

Quickest way is to tether your smartphone to your son's laptop or turn it into a wifi access point.

But check with your mobile provider first to see what the charges are.

Failing that.....pop into your local phone store and buy a pay as you go 3G dongle. Something like this Three Mobile Dongle

Sigh, I called my provider who said it takes 24 hours for the add on so I can tether to take effect so I'm going out to buy a dongle.

I'm hanging a Mi-fi delivered tomorrow by my mobile provider that will provide broadband but for tonight I'm going to need a dongle so she can look at past papers online

The other option depending on where you live is to ask a neighbour for their wifi password. Or if you have a neighbour with BT then they may have an Openzone wifi point set up that you can pay for for 24 hours access?

We got a dongle when changing suppliers, and were amazed at how good it was. You can PAYG with it too, so we take it camping now
