Emoji icons

Please can anyone explain why when I put an emoji happy face etc on my posting all looks well and the face appears but when the actual post comes up this happens??????. I am using an I pad and ios7. Hoping someone can clear up this mystery.

Another problem! How do you go back to previous or next page in Notes. There is nothing to tap and I am missing the previous page containing a list of books which I need. Grateful for any help.

Go back to the last page visited. ALT+LEFT ARROW

Thank you but I my notes are on an I Pad and the available keyboards do not have alt or control. Looks like I will have to invest in an apple pc but can't justify expense while my windows 7 is still going. Should I drop it?

I meant should I drop the windows 7 pc, not the subject!

Just looked on my iPad and opened Notes. It showed a list on the LHS on which, when I created a cpl of test Notes, a list of those Notes. So I don't realy understand the problem, sorry. I hope someone can help.

Thank you for all your help. Like you I looked on LHS but all it is showing me is the most recent page. I had already tried the search box. Tried tapping and doing a war dance around it but no luck. Never mind, I still have paper and pen!
