HELP history on my iPad being deleted every time I exit Safari...grrr

This means each time I come back to Mumsnet, or any other site I have to log in. No problems with this up until yesterday. I cannot find the setting to put this back as it was.

It is doing my head in.

Please help. Please.

Are you in private browsing mode?

On ios7 it's an option in the bottom left when you open a new window :)

I have been trying to work this out for weeks. Usually Google is my friend but it's let me down with this.

I can't see the private browsing option...what does it look like?

Open a new tab, it's on the bottom left of the page.

I've found it, I was looking for it on an open page, but of course it's only there when you open a new tab
