Windows 8 - Automatic File Rename Utility / Program / Freeware

Hi There

Wondering whether anyone can help me - I need to download a heap of photos from various folders on my PC to an SD card.. Each folder on the windows system has a unique name but all the files within each folder do not have unique names - i.e. 01.jpg, 02.jpg etc etc

My photoviewer seems only to accept to display photos in a top level directory - so I need to rename all the files in the sub-folders to unique names.

Does anyone know of a program that would automatically say prefix the files in each with something like xxxx01.jpg, yyyy01.jpg, happydays01.jpg

Can anyone recommend any reliable utility that would help me??

..no worries - I think that I have sussed it out...

Select the whole list of files within a folder - then right click on rename and add yadayadayanewFolder on the first file in the folder and it will then rename everything yadayadayanewFolder (1) , (2) etc etc etc - that the theory need to see if it works in real life...
