Hi

My curser works fine to start up my newish laptop, but when I get into Windows the touchpad mouse isn't responding at all. Tried googling and looking in the device manager to make sure that it is activated but can't find anything. It works fine with an external mouse.

Any ideas oh wise MNetters? Thank you

Googled th prob and found this: Click "Start | Control Panel | Hardware and Sound | Devices and Printers," and then look for the touchpad or trackpad option under the "Devices and Printers" heading. Note that your touchpad might be listed as a conventional mouse in addition to the temporary one you are using to navigate. Look for an "X" or "!" indicating the device is disabled, then right-click and choose "Enable." Worth a try

Also some makers enable the pad to be turned off by fn and FX combination X= number.
Acer computers use "F7" to disable and enable the touchpad.

Toshiba computers use "F9" to disable and enable the touchpad.

Asus computers use "F3" or "F7" to disable and enable the touchpad.

Dell computers use "F7" to disable and enable the touchpad.

Thank you both. Unfortunately neither of those do anything for me :( Less than a year old, so looks like I might be back to the supplier/under warrantee, unless there are any other great ideas out there. (It is a Toshiba.)
