That's it basically. I've tried switching on and off again and resetting it, no joy.

Yes, I know it's prehistoric, and I might just consider an upgrade, but I'd like to see if it's fixable first.

Have you checked that that your network isn't down? just google it

Try taking the SIM card out and putting it back in again. If no joy go to your network shop and they will check if it is a SIM card problem or a phone problem. If it's a SIM card problem they will replace the SIM card for you.
