OS Mavericks & Star Wars Lego Games (Unity 3D web player)

I'm throwing this out there with my fingers crossed someone can help figure this out.

We have an iMac from @ 2011.

Yesterday DS (5 1/2) was playing an online Lego Star Wars game via the Lego website. Suddenly the screen went black but you could hear the game in the background & move the mouse but nothing else worked. Couldn't force quit anything.

Called Apple tech support and we got the computer running again - unplugged it and did a multi key combo thingy.

Tech support said we should upgrade to Mavericks OS. Which we did.

Since then the only Lego Star Wars game he can play is the Advent Calendar one. Every other Lego Star Wars game gives a fatal error message and Safari freezes up (rainbow circle thingy). We can close out of the browser after multiple clicks.

Other games on the Lego site seem to work (in that there's no fatal error - not that I can play any of them!).

I deleted the Unity 3D web player, rebooted, reinstalled the web player, rebooted but still nothing works.

I'm curious if anyone else has the problem or if I really do need to make an appointment at the Genius bar.

DS is upset he can't play because he's finally worked out how to use the Force....

If I could use the Force on the computer, I'd get rid of Mavericks....

I suspect there won't be much they can do. You've downloaded and installed the latest bits from the Unity 3D website, yes, both the player and the browser plugin?

I'm not sure about the browser plug in. I got an email from Unity's tech support and they talked about the web player but didn't mention a plug in. I don't get an option for downloading a plug in when we click on the game.

I wound up sending him the Unity web player log so hopefully he can figure out what happened.

Strangely all the other games seem to work except R2D2 & the Yoda one.

Thanks.

We had dark screen on lego star wars after "updating" to Mavericks, finally we updated Silverlight (to version 3) and it works. Though somehow the games that the kids had saved were lost and they are very unhappy to be back at the beginning….
