Ok I'm old!! I need to get to grips with technology. I see lots of magazines in supermarkets that might help, but get overwhelmed with where to start. How do people get to be the first to know about things like latest versions of iphones and how to compare one tablet to another so that they can make the best choices? Can anyone recommend any starting point? I have a 15 year old and I'd like to get a bit more up to date!

Without you being more specific about the things you want to know more about it's difficult to recommend anything. I'm interested in online privacy and security so I read loads about that. Naked Security is worth a look, as is Startpage/Ixquick.

Hi, one of the best magazines I have found/used is Computer Active. It does comparisons, recommendations and explained computer terms. This is its web site. www.computeractive.co.uk Hope this helps.

I'd suggest taking a look at the 'Technology' section of NewsNow
