What do I look for in a camera? Any recommendations?

I need a new camera as my other one has started going really slow. Have no idea what's wrong with it!

What do I need to look for in a camera? I don't need a very high tech one but I would like one that takes the picture as soon as I press the button. My existing camera has started waiting about 5/6 seconds before the image is actually captured!

What else do I need to have?

I'm not overly impressed with the quality of my iPad pictures when they are printed so something better than that.

I'm a bit stuck about where to start!

What sort of budget did you have in mind?

What sort of photos are you taking? Family/kids days out type?

Do you want something easily carried or would a bigger camera (eg. DSLR) be ok as long as it takes good photos?

Camera's come in all price brackets and it's hard to recommend one without knowing more.

Ipad photos are the biggest crap ever and a 1. Minute video takes 249 MB!

Oh camera Q !!
