Help Windows 8 update has been updating all day!

Shut down as normal last night and it went straight to update when switched on this morning. It won't let us do anything including logging on. Wifi is working fine through phones and PS3 so don't think it's a poor connection. Can't even access the support service we bought last month as it's web based. DH and I are both clueless so please help.

All sorted now. Had to force shutdown 6 times then behaved. Have 3 rellies who had same problem.
