BT vision, rubbish kids package - want to cancel

I am complaining about the lack of children's TV programmes available.
When I was sold the package, I was assured by the female telephone advisor that it was comparable to Sky (we were previously Sky customers) and was told that we would DEFINITELY be able to get all the programmes shown on channels such as Boomerang, POP and Tiny POP. This is absolutely not the case, and my daughter and I are extremely disappointed. I did phone up 6 days after installation to see about cancelling the package, as it is just not what was sold to me over the phone, but was told that to cancel now would cost me £500+. I feel very upset by this, as I believe we were mis-sold the package.
I would like to cancel the package ASAP. I am willing to pay for the TV we have used so far, and will keep the phone and broadband if needed but NOT the TV package as it is NOT what I was sold over the phone..

As well as this obvious issue, we have found the whole TV package pretty poor. The picture quality is worse than normal freeview! Can't get the standard HD channels. Very difficult to navigate the screens, plus slow response to pressing buttons on remote..

All in all I feel we were royally ripped off Sad

What can I do? Do I have a case?.

Anyone else feel like this?

How long have you had the subscription for so far? And how long are you contracted in?

it started on 11th October and is 18 months Sad

Make a formal complaint. They should have a recording of the phone call.

If you don't get any satisfaction email the CEO of BT retail. (I have that email somewhere when you need it).

Thank you for replies, I have emailed their complaints dept. so I guess I should wait for a reply.
