Phone and Ipod both dead, what to buy?

I've never had a smartphone, because I only spend £10 a month on calls/texts and have no need for internet access.

I've looked at smartphone Pay Monthly packages, but these seem to run at about £35/month and lock you in for 24 months to offset the cost of the phone. I can't justify tripling my monthly spend, but now that my IPod is also dead, I'm wondering whether I should try and get an old-generation smartphone on PAYG?

Any suggestions on what to do for the best, please?

You'll pick up an older iphone model fairly cheap now and be able to put your sim in it. If it is locked to network you can pay a tenner to have it unlocked.
3G or 3GS should come cheap now.

Should add 3G or 3GS iphone.

Or if you wanna go to the dark side - an old samsung galaxy s2 or htc desire will also play music

I just assumed iphone with u saying you had iPod.

Thanks Kafri. Resigned to buying a 4s, although it's £100 more than I'd hoped to pay. But doesn't make sense to buy a separate MP3 player and phone.
