Have O2 PAYG. Why would they be sending me texts with a code to retrieve my account ? Or is this phishing of some sort ?

I had that with a friend recently - it was a problem with her phone after upgrading to iOS on her iPhone. I was getting texts as emails with an attachment with the actual text in. I mentioned it to her and it seems to be back to normal now.

Is it all texts or ones from specific people?

The texts are from O2 , or so they claim No software upgrade recently afaik. Only use it for text and calls.

Have you downloaded the My O2 app, or maybe clicked on a link to register for it - O2 send you a text worth a code for that.
