Xbox for ds(10)

Ds(10) has been asking for an Xbox for Xmas for 2 years now, so getting him one ths year.

I know nothing about gaming and I'm planning on getting the Xbox 360, as much cheaper and Xbox one is still very new and everywhere seems to say these consoles are over priced and they seem to have teething problems when first released.

Will I regret getting the "old" Xbox later? Dh and I are unlikely to play it.

Was thinking of getting the new Xbox 360 with FIFA 14 game for £169 the is being released at te end of September.

We got a second hand one of eBay with cod game

That cost £88 it also came with 2 controllers.
It looks new.

We also had to buy an adapter to connect to Xbox live off of amazon.
Then a subscription to Xbox live.
Total for that was 75.

I agree with getting a second hand one. And there will probably be quite a few soon in good condition and with games, what with the Xbox One's release. The newer Xbox 360s have built in adapters for the xbox live connection.

The 360 is still being supported after the launch of xboxone so it's still a decent buy.

One thing I will say though.. spend the extra for the bigger hardrive. Have a chat with the shop you're getting it from. I really wouldn't just go for the cheapest option unless you're getting pre owned.

Gamerchick, will you still be able to get new games that work on the 360 and One then?

And don't hook up a card to get live.. buy the scratch off code. If you hang fire closer to Christmas for Xbox live you should be able to bag 14 months for the cost of 12.

There will be games exclusive to xbox one sadly but they're still making games for the 360 apparently. the new console won't be backwards compatible annoyingly but saying that they won't commit to an answer to that atm.

The new system looks well impressive though.

Gamerchick, £169 gets the 250gb console with FIFA 14 bundled in. Is that the biggest hard drive?

Where would i see the scratch off code? Amazon?

He plays halo4 at friends and wants halo5 but that seems to only be on Xbox one, so he will need to make do with halo4.

That's a good deal for a new machine. That hardrive is just the ticket.

You can get the code from all game shops. Keep the receipt just in case and scratch it off really carefully. I had a clart on when the boy scratched too hard and we couldn't read it. Microsoft were less than helpful. Better than hooking a card to the account though. It's Easy for younglings to spend.

I'm gutted about halo 5 as well but no way am I replacing 4 machines just yet.
