Trying to sign into Netflix to watch a film, where do I press to get the letters??

No. No letters on the number keys.

You can buy a keyboard from Samsung,
There is an app for iOS.
Some TVs can use a USB keyboard.

Probably best to look at Samsung support webpages to try to find out what works with your particular model of TV.
