Hi

Just bought my first ever laptop. I'm v grown up, but work has always provided me with one already set up and serviced by our IT department before!!) Total beginner therefore. Pls could you recommend which anti virus software I ought to get - and whether I ought to put anything else on it?!

(It came with MS Windows (10?) and MS Office Professional, and a month of Macaffe(?) anti virus, which runs out tomorrow!

TIA

Get Avast! which is really good freeware.

Also load Spybot search and destroy and update and immunise once a week to stop malware getting in.

Ive had this combo for years and have not been infected.

Also put Malware Bytes on your PC so that if you so get a particularly nasty virus, you can get rid of it.

Is it Windows 8,if so it has an anti virus built in,its called Windows defender. It will be turned off because Macaffe is installed. You will need to delete Macaffe, then turn on defender in Action centre.
