How can I download jpeg photos straight to an iPad?

They are photos hosted online - when I click download they seem to do so - but I have no idea where they go.
Ideally I just want them in my photos folder..
Clueless about how to do this/ if its even possible
Any advice?
TIA

There are two straightforward ways - assuming you have the photo on the screen.

  1. Touch the photo on screen. "Save Image icon" appears. Click. Goes straight to photos.

  2. If that doesn't work use screen shot. Simultaneously click the Home button and the on/off button on top edge of iPad. Goes straight into photos. Always works but is a bit clumsy.

Really hope I haven't completely misunderstood your question!

Thanks so much for the reply I had sort of given up.

I may have not been clear as am not very tech savvy - I think my issue is that I need to download them from a website - but don't have software to do that and they can't be saved using save images...
The screen shot thing was a useful reminder though as at least I can have a copy of the images - but not an original file that I can then use to get printed...
