Building a website

I have an idea for one... Does anyone who has done this have any tips? I am currently trying to decide on a website builder - can anyone who has used one tell me what they do and do not like about it please? Thanks :)

I use and like Wordpress. It is widely used so there are plenty of website designers who can work with it, plus I can upload content myself. Lot's of "plugins" to add functions to it and millions of "themes" to give it a more unique look.
