Headphones for Smartphone

Are they generic or do you need to buy brand compatible ?

I don't know actually, but I have a Samsung galaxy Ace and have been able to use the headphones I got for my mp3 with the phone. I think the socket is likely to be a generic one as it's the same socket I used with older phones from different manufacturers.

Thanks, a basic set did come with my phone (discovered lurking in bottom of box!) but not sure they will be comfy enough for running .

I've never found the headphones that come with an item to be anywhere near as good as ones I've bought separately. Currently using some phillips ones that do ok for running (or in my case, brisk walking ), that do okay in the phone and mp3.

Skull candy in ear ones are very good especially the inked ones, they are about 17 from Argos..
