Please help me use Twitter - how do you keep up with it?

I have a Twitter account but don't really understand how to use it.

I am following people but if I am not on the computer or phone all day, how do I keep up? I can manage FB because I can go away then scroll back & catch up. But with Twitter, there's so much... and conversations are in real time.

Am I just too old?

Don't worry about keeping up with it. You don't have to. You just read the chat at the time you log on and respond to that.

If you have some people you really want to read and respond to, then put them in a list.

And no, you are not too old. My mum is 69 years old and is on Twitter. She can't RT yet, cause she is only on page 16 of my book, but we are getting there. :)
