Skype/ MSN messenger merger. Skype stays signed in - how do i change this?

I've just got Skype today because of the MSN messenger merge. However i found that if i don't sign out of it and then turn my computer off and then later back on, i find i'm still signed in. Any way to change this from happening in the settings?

Also it doesn't alert me of new emails coming in... which used to happen when I was signed into MSN messenger.

Actually all in all it isn't much to use to me. If I delete the hotmail account it's associated with (which may happen at some point), I wanted to know out of interest... will my associated skype account be deleted as well (and all my info).

Thankyou

Bump...

My DH is currently round MILs sorting out this exact problem for her!

If you go onto the tools menu, then select options, you can stop it opening whenever windows is opened. When you are shutting skype down, click on skype, then close.

If the icon stays in your tool bar, right click on it then select quit.

It's a persistent fucker isn't it?

tonyf · 02/05/2013 12:47

thanks "bollockstoit", but it brings up an options menu before you sign in and there's also one after you've signed in as well. idiot-proof answers much appreciated.

On mine, it only has "connection options" when I'm not signed in. The one I mean is when you are signed in.

DH sorted out my MIL's one, I don't know how he did it though...
