How does youtube work these days? I have a gmail account. All I want is to be able to save my favourite videos somewhere and not upload any - how do I do that please?! TIA.

Have you signed in to YouTube? There should be a button at the top right of the Youtube page.

If so then when you first click to watch a video, underneath the video you should see a row with the thumbs up/down buttons and on the right hand side an "add to" button. Click that and make your own playlist.

Thanks, it's asking me to set up a channel - what's that? What's a personal channel?!
