I am trying to compile a special playlist for my dh birthday without him knowing.
I set up a secret iTunes account & put a cd on. But later that night he went to listen to another cd while using the computer , on Windows media player, & it showed up with the cd I'd put on as well!
Eeek! I told him I'd put it on to see if I could work it! But think he might smell a rat!
Is there any way I can keep the 2 separate? At least until after his birthday?

Your Windows Media Player may be set to import a Cd automatically as soon as it's inserted. Have a look at the rip settings in Windows Media Player - they vary in wording and how to find them according to the version you've got, so you might have to look around a bit- and see if the option to rip a Cd automatically is ticked. Try unticking it, but you will probably need to remember to retick when you've finished if your DH has it deliberately set that way, otherwise he might wonder what's going on!

You can always go into media player after adding the CD and remove it from the media player library. Then you won't be fiddling with the settings.

Thank you both. After asking various people with no luck, I knew this was the place to come!
