My 12yr old rarely had his phone off of silent, i know he has to when at school, but whern i am trying to call him after school to see where he is i can never get through!!! does anyone know an app for his phone that will tell me where he is? I get really worried especially now its so dark so early, it would be useful to have some kind of tracking thing.
Any help would be useful.
thanks

you can sign up for Google Latitude, and track him that way. Be aware though that it's not always accurate, and other times it can be very accurate indeed. I and my DDs have it - they find it helpful to see how close I am to picking them up, and I get a rough idea of where they are..

Lookout Mobile Security is really good. I also got one for DS from Virgin so I assume that most networks do their own one. The Virgin one is good, it even tracks the side of the road he is on.

I have been experimenting with YooHoo! which has only recently appeared on the Google Play store (Android phones):-

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crimsoncube.schedulelocationsms

It's called "YooHoo! SMS your GPS location"

This app will send out the owner's location (i.e. your 12yr old's) as an SMS every so often (you can set it from 30 mins to 8 hours in the settings). The SMS contains a link to Google Maps with the location at that time.
