Is it worth buying an iPod touch?

I get a lot of use out of my iPod, however it's 6 years old and becoming tempremental.

I like the look of the new iPod touch, but is it worth getting one, given that I have a phone upgrade due in October (currently have a Samsung Galaxy) and could just get an iPhone then? It wouldn't be worth having both iPod Touch and iPhone, would it?

I love my iPod touch it's great for music and apps. Mine is knackered and is a 1st gen so lots of apps no longer work as they've moved with the new software. I'm due a phone upgrade next month and will be going for the new iPhone rather than buying another touch. I agree, I wouldn't use a touch and an iPhone.

If you are able to upgrade to iPhone do that, pointless having both. I'd love to get an iPhone but as I just replaced my touch in November there's no justification. They are fantastic gadgets!

I agree the iPod touch is an iPhone without the phone bit :)
