why does dd1's iPad show a different time from the rest of the household gadgetry?

dd1 has an iPad - 1st gen, but it is not t do with age/misuse as it has always done this.

it is sim capable, but has only ever been connected via wifi (it isn't always connected up, but the time difference remains whether connected or not)

the time difference is 22 minutes Confused Confused. my computer clock is currently showing 12:55, dd1's ipad claims it is 13:17.

I cannot rectify it - have reset the clock, redone the time, synced, connected/disconnected wifi - you name it.

it gives me a bloody heart attack every morning when I hand it to her in the car, catch sight of the time and think we are running late for school

so how can I fix it?

Bump - school starts again next week and I'd like to avoid the heart stopping panic whenever I glance at the home-screen...

In setting/general/date and time.

Turn off 'set time automatically' and set it manually instead. That should work. While you are there it might have the wrong time zone set.

If, on the other hand, 'set time automatically' was set to 'No', then set it to 'Yes' as it should work fine, and it's a little bizarre if it isn't.

thanks Smile

it was set to off, but it still doens't 'hold' time, iyswim. If I set it to on, then it is 'only' 7 minutes out (which is why I turned it off in the first place - in the hope that I wouldn't think we were late all the time - oh the irony!)

so, either way, it doesn't display the right time Confused

time zone is fine.

I am totally Confused as to why, if it is set to update automatically, it displays a different time from all other gadgets (ipod, laptops) which are all presumably gaining their time check from our router?
