Which tablet - nexus 7 or Kindles Fire hd? Help - clueless!

Been given some money for Christmas and I really want to buy myself a tablet but I'm confused which one would be best?

Managed to totally confuse myself reading the reviews so I thought I would ask those who have got either the Kindle or the Nexus and see what you love (or hate) about them.

I'd go for the Nexus.

The Kindle will tie you into only getting content from Amazon unless you are geeky minded and don't mind hacking.

The Nexus is the all round better tablet.

I sold my iPad 2 to buy a nexus and I love it. I like the ability to customise things. Widgets are really handy. Everything is very intuitive. I like the screen size, perfect fit reading and sticking in my handbag. I really do love it. Also the ability to drag and drop files without having to convert anything.

Doubt it, but you won't regret it. I've sold my iPhone to buy a nexus for the husband. Let me know if you need any help when setting up. Got mine from Argos, too impatient to wait for delivery and didn't want to pay postage.
