iPad battery bloody useless

We've had our iPad for two months and the battery has suddenly started to drain really fast. We mainly use it for internet, though have the odd app ie Jasmine and Good Food. I have disabled notofications on everything and have let it run out and recharged fully as per the tips online but it still drains really fast. It's wifi only so no 3G to eat everything up.

Any tips? I'd take it back assuming it's a dud lot but DH has lost the receipt Angry is there anything I can do without a receipt?

Take it into the Apple store. They have excellent customer services and will either fix it or replace it. I've never heard them ask for a receipt, either.

I don't have an apple store :( I bought it in Luxembourg.

Maybe the serial number could act as proof of purchase?

Have you closed down all the running programmes? By pressing the home key twice quickly? I ask as it was AGES before I realised that everything just stayed open....

PetiteRaleuse · 14/12/2012 15:06

Ha, I tried to, but some of mthem won't close. Hw do you close them if they don't havea close option?

Oh, I just worked it out. Everything was running. About 20 things. Thank you so much.

Why does everything stay open? Do you have to do that everytime you use something? I bloody hate apple.

Turning the screen brightness down has a massive effect on the battery life too.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/12/2012 15:21

Thanks, I have done that too.

In the 10 minutes between those posts it went down 8%. I was only reading a thread on here in that time.

Apple should be able to help they use serial number to tag purchase date

PetiteRaleuse · 14/12/2012 16:31

Oh that's great. Thank you. I'll give them a call on Monday.
