Getting videos from iPhone to DVD

I have lots of videos of DD on my iPhone 3 that I'd really like to get onto a dvd (one I can watch on the tv, not just the computer). Could someone explain to me - in a very basic way please - how I go about this? I only have a PC, not a Mac. I thought it would just be a case of saving them onto my desktop and then burning a CD, but clearly not...

I'm going to do this for the GPs for Xmas if I get time, but have never done it before.

I plan to try Microsoft movie maker (free) program, but will watch your thread to see what others suggest !

Depends what format the videos are saved as. I think Apple's native format is typically incompatible with most other things but there are plenty of conversion programs available to download online. Although, the quality you end up with after conversion might not be great. Does iTunes have a burning option?
