iPod Touch 2nd Generation

Bought my DS a 2nd Generation iPod Touch in the summer (I only paid £20 for it) and he loves it. The inky issue is that several of the apps he loves have recently upgraded and now w t work in his device despite having done so before .

Is the on,y answer a new iPod touch? He has iOS 4.2.1 (if that means something to somebody). My understanding is that this cannot go any higher :(

Have a relative who has offered to buy him a newer iPod for his birthday but thought I should check first to see if there is a cheaper option.

yes, if the apps have been updated to take advantage of features only found in ios6 then the only option is a new ipod which will run said ios.

Thank you for that advice, yes think a new iPod is the only way to go. A relative has offered to buy DS a newer one (lucky DS) so will probably go with that.
