Screen shot on iPad?

My 5yr old has taken a photo that is a screen shot of my iPad but neither of us knows how, does anyone out there know??

Not sure if this works on all models the same, but hold down the home button, and then press the on/off button once.

Is the same for my iphone 4s as well. Often a useful tool, if you want a screenshot of a facebook posting or something that somebody might delete from a page. Only captures what is on the screen itself, obvioulsy.
