We have laptops but i would really like a "normal" (don't know the technical term) computer to put in the study, for the DCs to share for homework and their i-tunes. Nothing more than that needed, TBH.

Already have a printer, but need a monitor and keyboard as well as the computer part. I have looked at the Dell website because I heard they are good value, but they only seem to have one model which is over £600. I was hoping to spend less than that - or am I being unrealistic?

Any advice or recommendations gratefully received, thank you lovely geeky people!

How about something like this? Compaq CQ2940?

If you need both desktop computer and a monitor then £600 isn't a massive amount. But the above should be more than adequate for surfing the web/iTunes & homework. It won't be any good for playing action games though. But Flash based games like miniclip & BBC website games should all work fine.

aha! that looks pretty good - thank you.
No problem if it's no good for playing action games - the less of that the better!
