Can I join this thread, because I would like to know how to do this too - also, for some reason my son gets my emails to his iPhone, and I have got my daughters contacts from her iPhone - it seems as though we are all mixed up in the cloud perhaps. I would really like to have my own music, not theirs, on my phone.

Yeah I am the same! Hope someone clever comes along to help!

We've chosen to have one itunes account here, so if any of us buys music, then we can share it around the family. So we download new music onto the general itunes account, then we have different playlists, so my ipod has everything on it (for holidays etc), dd1 has her playlist and when she syncs her itouch, the settings only sync that playlist to her itouch. When the device comes up in itunes, click on it and then you can tick 'only sync selected playlists', then in music, you can select what you want to sync to that particular device......

I was concerned about setting up separate accounts as there is some overlap in our musical taste and I didn't want to buy twice.....

You can also set up playlists for parties, train journeys etc and just sync those. My dd2 has a playlist with 'age appropriate music' Smile

The settings for the mail are, I think, done on the phone itself.

It's more the apps I want to separate all of his are kids games etc and I really don't want 10 different angry birds games on my phone.

I'm sure you can seperate out the apps too....My dd1 and I have different apps on our phones/itouch and we don't get each others at all. They are all on the itunes account, but her's don't go to mine and vice versa...... I'll have a look this evening and come back if I think I've found a clue Smile

itunes is a bit of a pain to drive. I find if you sync the device Then tick only what you want and sync again it often works.

next time with luck it syncs that tick list, sometimes it seems to need telling twice.

Beachyhead is right playlists are the answer to music, they stay ticked and sync properly, odd songs smetimes don't seem to.

oh and at least ipods spell check properly, this fire is driving me dotty.
