My laptop had to be restarted from scratch this morning and when I tried to input my email address into something the @ symbol has been replaced by the "

So when I press shift to try and get the @ symbol, I get the " which is above the 2 on my keyboard. DD2 realised that they had been tranposed and told me to just use shift and the 2 key each time I want to use @.

However, I just want them switched round back into their proper places.... and I'm not techy at all

Please clever wise mumsnetters help me!!!! Grin

Not sure what your computer is running, but try right click on the keyboard icon and Properties

PestoSandalissimos · 21/10/2012 10:47

Oh dear

I can't find anything to default it back to UK.

When I've tested it on a Word document, it keeps reverting to US english too, even when I click on English UK. GRRrrrr!!!!

Rusty,

When I go on properties, it suggests a troubleshooting thingy to do.

Should I try that?

Do you have a 'regional and language' section in Control Panel? Try that.

PestoSandalissimos · 21/10/2012 11:04

Right I've done that Regional & language thing. It was (and is) set to English UK and UK, so that's fine, but the keys are still transposed Sad

Update:

I don't know what I've done, but somehow my keys are back to normal once more - yay!!!

Was it to do with me shutting the laptop down completely and starting all over again? I don't know.

But, anyhoo, thank you ladies for your efforts this mornign. I am now a happy Pesto again Grin
